Has Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey Circus Taken Out All Animal Acts?

The disappearance of animal acts from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey Circus remains a mystery due to the recent legal setback. After a lawsuit filed against the famous circus by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), they ceased touring. Fans and animal lovers eagerly await a return to the ring to witness the amazing performances, especially when the circus decides to resume operations or a new owner takes charge.

Despite the absence of animal acts, I personally find a fondness for the smaller, more intimate one-ring circuses. These venues, often parks or smaller arenas, offer a more heartwarming and performative experience. Here are some of the top circuses in the U.S. this season that capture my interest and appreciation:

Top US Circuses of the Season

Zerbini Family Circus Carson and Barnes, a large but highly regarded circus Lewis and Clark Culpepper Merriweather Great Benjamin Flynn Creek Circus Cirque Italia's water circus

The silver unit tent is a real marvel!

Universoul Circus, a bigger show but well worth the price Cirque Mundail Jordan World, a tent edition Kelly Miller Loomis Brothers, another bigger show with a live band Ramos Brothers, yet another really good one Stardust, the smallest circus on tour today

It reminds me of the old Holiday Hippodrome show and it's a crowd pleaser. Kids get free ring side upgrades right when the show starts.

Among these, I have a special preference for the smaller one-ring style shows. These circuses offer a more engaging and intimate experience, making them stand out in my personal favorites list.

It is highly recommended that anyone fortunate enough to have the chance to see a circus should take the opportunity. If you have the super luck to see a tent circus, do not miss out on it!

The Impact of Non-Factual Opinions

The reality is, with the increasing anti-animal act sentiment fueled by unfounded claims, many devoted animal admirers and performers have been severely impacted. Today, most private circuses, if they include animals at all, feature only dogs, horses, and camels. Despite the absence of more exotic acts, the quality of the shows remains exceptional. It's a sad reality that misguided opinions have stunted the ability of others to enjoy and be entertained by these magnificent animal family members.

But the good news is, many circuses still perform with only a limited number of animals, and the shows continue to be spectacular without them. Whenever the circus does return, it's certain to bring joy and wonder to audiences once again.
