George Carlin: A Charismatic Figure and Humorous Mind

George Carlin, known for his sharp wit, incisive commentary, and unapologetic approach to controversial topics, was a complex and multifaceted figure. While his humor often incited laughter, his engaging presence and insightful social critiques made him a memorable personality.

Personality and Interactions

During personal encounters, Carlin was often described as charismatic and engaging. His commanding presence drew people in, and his performances combined humor with social critique. Personal Encounters and Memorable Moments

I met him in Las Vegas back in 1996 or 97 at the Times Square Bar in the New York-New York Casino. Introduced to him by a friend, he was very friendly and called me Dean Martin Manson, a nod to my long black hair, black painted fingernails, goth-Vegas casino couture outfit, and the scotch rocks I carried around in a lowball glass.

We hung out for about 15 minutes, laughing about various things. He then managed to convince me to get up and sing “Aint That a Kick in the Head” with the dueling piano players. Although I was doing a passable job, he was mostly laughing at my performance until it was finished. He shook my hand and said that he didn’t expect that. He then left to get back to his performance at MGM.

While George Carlin was a lot of fun and super cool, I regret not having more time to bond with him.
