As an EXO-L, I would be more than happy if we get a comeback from them, but the chances of them leaving SM are actually quite high. Their contracts end in April 2022, and both Kai and Sehun are expected to enlist in 2023. By the time their contracts end, both Chen and Suho will be back from the military, while Chanyeol and Baekhyun will still be in the military and will only return by the end of 2022. So, as far as we know, there are still a few months until we get to know their decision regarding their renewal, but the chances are quite high that at least some, if not all, of them will leave.
They look like they are quite done with their idol life. While groups like SNSD and SuJu are still active, looking at the amount of strife EXO has dealt with from both SM saesangs (managers) and toxicEXO-Ls (fans), it does look like they might not want to maintain their idol image. By now, most of them are more focused on acting and solo music. Chen, even, has baby number 2 on the way! So, what I am saying is that they might be more focused on individual careers and their personal lives, marriage, and family rather than being an idol group.
If we do get an OT8 or OT9 comeback, I will be more than happy. However, the possibility of this happening depends heavily on the members' personal choices and SM Entertainment's decisions. For now, we can only speculate.
