Clearing the Air: NCB Clarifies Involvement of Aryan Khan in Recent Drug Raid
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has taken steps to clarify the controversial situation that followed the drug raid on the Goa-bound Cordelia cruise ship, involving Aryan Khan and others. The recent developments have sparked public interest, with a widely circulated picture leading to speculations and misinformation. In order to set the record straight, the NCB provided an official statement clarifying the roles and responsibilities of its staff in the incident.
Details of the Incident and Clarification
On Saturday night, the NCB conducted a raid on the Cordelia cruise ship in the Mumbai coast, confiscating drugs and arresting individuals in connection with drug possession. Among those detained were Aryan Khan and seven others. The NCB confirmed that Aryan Khan and three others, including himself, have been arrested on suspicion of drug possession and consumption.
The incident has garnered significant media attention, with a photograph of Aryan Khan taken by a man being widely shared on social media. This photograph has led to various speculations and even claims that the individual in the picture might have been an NCB officer. However, the NCB has taken the necessary steps to clarify that the man in the picture is neither an NCB officer nor an employee. This clarification comes at a time when a local Mumbai court is hearing cases involving Aryan Khan, Arbaz Seth, Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha, who were arrested on Sunday, after being linked to a drug case.
Background and Legal Developments
The NCB received a tip-off prior to the raid, indicating that a rave party would take place on the Cordelia cruise and that several individuals from the film industry might be present. Additionally, it was reported that the use of drugs at the party was anticipated. Smita Ambekar, an advocate, represented Aryan Khan in court, and he has been booked under various sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) for possession and consumption of banned substances.
Ten individuals, including Aryan Khan, were detained during the raid. The NCB seized a total of 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA (ecstasy), 5 grams of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MD), and 1.33 lakh rupees in cash. This follow-up clarification from the NCB is crucial in ensuring that the actions and roles of its personnel are accurately understood and communicated to the public.
The Cruise Owners' Perspective
In a separate development, the owners of the Cordelia cruise ship have stated that they were not involved in the organization of any rave party or drug-related activities on the ship. They emphasize their commitment to responsible and legal operations and are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities.
As the situation continues to develop, the NCB's clarification serves as an important step in managing public perception and ensuring that accurate information is disseminated. It is essential for effective communication and maintaining public trust in the efforts of law enforcement agencies.
